Couples intensives in Culver City give partners two or three dedicated days to work through what weekly sessions have not been able to reach. Led by clinicians trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy, each intensive combines a relationship assessment, joint sessions and individual time so you can slow down painful cycles, repair trust after betrayal and leave with a clear plan for staying connected once you return home.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Each intensive runs over two or three consecutive days at our Culver City office. It begins with a relationship checkup assessment, then moves between joint couple sessions and individual sessions so each partner has space to be heard. The schedule is built around your goals, and you leave with take home resources to keep the work going.
-
Our office is at 3685 Motor Ave. #220, Los Angeles, CA 90034, on the Culver City and Palms border. It is a short drive for couples coming from Culver City, Palms, Cheviot Hills, Mar Vista, Westwood, Santa Monica and the wider Westside.
-
Yes. Many couples choose an intensive because it fits into a few planned days rather than months of weekly appointments. Couples traveling from other parts of California or out of state often book their stay nearby and treat the intensive as protected time away from work and family demands.
-
Intensives are led by licensed and associate clinicians at Couples Healing Center who are trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy and are part of the practice founded by Dr. Liz Wee, a licensed marriage and family therapist and board certified sex therapist. During your consultation we match you with the clinician best suited to your concerns.
-
Often, yes. The weeks after a discovery can feel chaotic, and waiting a week between sessions can leave both partners stuck in the same painful conversations. An intensive offers a contained setting to process the betrayal, ask difficult questions with support and decide together how to begin repair.
-
An intensive is not recommended when there is ongoing physical violence, active threats or a partner who is unsafe at home. In those situations individual support and safety planning come first. Your consultation includes screening so we can point you toward the right level of care.
-
Yes. Dr. Liz Wee is a Korean therapist who works closely with Korean American, Asian American and intercultural couples, and our team provides culturally responsive care for Latino and multicultural partners. We make room for family expectations, cultural values and identity as part of the work, not as an afterthought.
-
You leave with take home resources and practical tools to use between conversations at home. Many couples continue with weekly couples therapy in person in Culver City or virtually anywhere in California so the changes made during the intensive keep building.
-
Intensives are private pay and pricing depends on the format you choose. We do not bill insurance directly, but we provide superbills you can submit for out of network reimbursement. You can also use Mentaya, which handles the reimbursement process for a 5% fee per claim.
